updates

wow, it's a while since i posted, isn't it? let's see, what's new...

lots of movement! little pokings and proddings going on all the time. very strange, but very cool. my midwife guessed that it took so long for me to feel anything because the placenta is in front, and she was right.

finally got the results from the 18-week ultrasound - everything is "perfect."

we've enrolled in birth prep classes with cousin and co-worker, and have booked a hospital tour as well. still haven't taken care of childcare, very bad.

hospital bag is packed, largely as a preventive measure i guess, since the midwives tell me that if everything goes according to schedule, i'll be going home two hours (!) after delivery.

have to find a hotel for mum that is convenient to hospital and our house.

bought a few preggo shirts the other day at the modern maternity warehouse. the clerk asked me if i wanted to borrow a pillow to try things on, "since you're not showing yet." ?? is she crazy? i'm huge! last time i measured my waist - which was over six weeks ago - it was already at 36" - a full 11" bigger than normal! and i've gotten much bigger since then. maybe this is why i can't get a seat on the subway... i guess everyone still thinks it's just a beer gut!
